Join in the fun at one of our group digs and learn where and how to find gold and other minerals right here in Maryland. We have seasonal, group digs on private property, where you can find your own gold and become part of the growing community of prospectors that enjoy getting outdoors and meeting new friends while learning new techniques or refining old ones. From first timers to seasoned "sourdoughs", there is something for everyone at these events. Please check our website periodically or subscribe to our newsletter for schedules and updates.
Maryland offers an abundance of exploration opportunities for prospectors, rockhounds and history buffs. Come along on a Discovery Trip and learn about the gold rich history of the C&O Canal National Park or collect some of over 600 species of fossils and shark's teeth at Calvert Cliffs State Park. Just a short drive away, we also have one of the world's largest collections of gems and minerals at Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History. Have a trip in mind? Suggest it and we can all go together.
