The Central Maryland GPAA was established in 2012 as an official chapter of the Gold Prospectors Association of America and is operated by Central Maryland Gold Prospectors, Inc., a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation.
The Central Maryland GPAA is dedicated to providing environmental education in the area of recreational gold prospecting and mineral collection by providing hands on activities, educational outings and exploratory hikes for the general public, youth groups and other organizations.
will be held on September 23rd at Calvert Cliffs State Park in Lusby, Maryland. The park is open from dawn to dusk and has a $5 per vehicle entry fee.
Come for a few hours or stay all day. Shovels and classifiers/screens are allowed , but keep in mind that it is a 2 mile walk from the parking area to the search area at the beach. Our members will be arriving throughout the day and "fishing" for fossils at the beach. Please visit the Calvert Cliffs State Park website for more park information.
